…A startled trio of local politicians who showed up to support the rally — City Council members Robert Cornegy and Ben Kallos and state Sen. Andrew Gounardes — all witnessed the fracas firsthand.
“They tried to push their way in,” said Karlin Chan, a PLACE supporter. “You don’t crash into someone else’s rally. Everybody’s standing, then all of a sudden they’re charging through the crowd, trying to raise their banner behind the speaker podium.”…
“They’re saying if someone has a different opinion than you, you should outshout them,” said PLACE member Lucas Liu. “What kind of a way is that to teach our kids?”
