We were honored to have Assembly members William Colton (D49) and Michael Reilly (D62) and City Councilman Robert Holden (D30) speak at our rally. We received official statements from Congress woman Nicole Malliotakis, Senator John Liu, Chair of the Education Committee (D11), NYS Senate GOP leader Robert Ortt, Assembly members Michael Tannousis (D64), Andrew Hevesi (D28), Edward Braunstein (D26) and City Council candidate Sandra Ung (D20).
City council candidates and PLACE NYC co-founder and Vice President Maud Maron (D1) and co-founder Allie Ryan (D2) spoke passionately about their staunch advocacy for expanding acceleated education opportunities.
The highlight was hearing from parents (and one student) across the city who shared what G&T means to their family and want the program expanded so more children can benefit.
